Register your vehicle within 30 days
Texas gives new residents 30 days to register a vehicle (Transportation Code §502.040). A first Texas registration costs a $33 application fee and a $90 new-resident tax, plus the regular registration fees (Collin County Tax Assessor). Start water and trash
City of Allen water is set up through Utility Billing, 214.509.4560, and trash and recycling service starts automatically with water (City of Allen).
Moving from one Allen home to another? Transfer service instead of starting new. Your trash and recycling carts stay at the old house, and the city bills a fee for each missing cart.
