Residential moves: what an apartment or house move includes

Champion Moving is a moving company at 550 S Watters Rd in Allen. We move renters at lease end and owners on closing day, and the job is the same either way: cover the floors, wrap and load the furniture, drive it across Allen, and set it back up in the rooms you pick.

Apartment moves add a few questions for your leasing office before move day: where the truck can park, whether you need to reserve the elevator, and what hours moves are allowed. Our Allen apartment move rules guide covers what to ask.

Stairs and elevators

Upper-floor apartments and floor-to-floor moves, carried by our own crew.

Runners along the carry path

Runners go down along the path the crew carries furniture.

Pads or wrap on large furniture

Moving blankets or stretch wrap on the large pieces.

Beds and tables taken apart

Bed frames and tables come apart and go back together.

Moving into a house? Add move-in setup for TV mounting and plug-in appliance hookups (no gas lines, hard-wiring or water heaters). Only a few pieces? See local moves.

Lease-end and closing-day moves: what to get in writing

Before an apartment or house is loaded, Texas requires a written proposal. Read it first.

Stairs, elevators and house move days in Allen

House moves load in daylight

At a house the truck usually stands on the street. Allen §9-227 allows that only while loading or unloading, and never from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

Apartments follow the building

Ask your leasing office where the truck can park, whether the elevator needs reserving, and what hours moves are allowed.

Empty boxes after a home move

Allen picks up flattened moving boxes once, on a Saturday. Call 214.509.4551 by noon the day before.

HOA rules vary by community, so check yours before move day. Allen move-day rules

Apartment and home move questions in Allen

Yes. Stairs and upper floors are part of apartment moves, and one customer wrote that they moved “from a 4th floor, 3BR apartment and the guys were quick and efficient” (Amber H., Google review, a year ago as of Oct 15, 2026). Tell us the floor, whether there is an elevator, and how far the truck parks from the building door. Those details set the crew size and the estimate.

Ask where a moving truck can park, whether the elevator or a loading area has to be reserved, and what hours moves are allowed. Each complex sets its own rules, so get them from the leasing office in writing. Our Allen apartment move rules guide lists what to ask.

Two documents. First, a written proposal that shows the maximum price, says whether it is binding or not-to-exceed, and states when and how payment is due and the mover’s liability for your goods, if any (43 TAC §218.56). Second, the TxDMV brochure “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas” (§218.55). Read both before the crew starts loading in Allen.

Same-day and last-minute moves are one of our services, so call (214) 407-2684 as soon as you know the date. Whether a crew is free depends on the schedule. If the truck loads on an Allen street, it has to be off the street by 30 minutes after sunset. More on same-day moves.

No. Allen Code §9-227 lets a commercial truck, or one with more than two axles, stand on a public street only while it is being loaded or unloaded, and never from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise. There is no loading exception at night. Commercial vehicles also can’t sit on a residential lot except while loading, so we plan Allen street loading for daylight.
