Movers cancelled on you?

A crew no-shows, or calls the morning of the move to push you to next week. Champion Moving is a moving company at 550 S Watters Rd in Allen, and we take same-day and last-minute moves. Customers have said it in their own words: “They came through for me when other movers bailed, even with short notice on their off day” (Jessica M., Google review, 3 days ago as of Oct 15, 2026).

Whether we can take your move today depends on the schedule, so call and ask. Here is what to have ready.

Call first

Call (214) 407-2684 and ask whether a crew is free. We take calls, not texts.

Have the details ready

Both addresses, the floors or stairs at each end, and what is moving.

Still get it in writing

Even on short notice, Texas requires the maximum price in writing before loading.

Watch the daylight

Allen street loading has to stop by 30 minutes after sunset.

Short-notice moves are planned like any other. Local moves and apartment and home moves cover the details.

Short-notice move timing in Allen

The daylight limit

Allen §9-227 bars a moving truck from standing on a public street from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise, with no exception for loading. The later in the day you call, the less street time is left.

Not in the driveway overnight

The same ordinance keeps commercial vehicles off residential lots except while loading, so a truck can't wait in the driveway overnight.

Box pickup after a rushed move

Allen picks up flattened moving boxes once, on a Saturday. Call 214.509.4551 by noon the day before.

Same-day move questions in Allen

Same-day and last-minute moves are one of our services. One customer wrote that they needed movers “the very same day, and they came through” (Dominic N., Google review, 4 days ago as of Oct 15, 2026). Whether a crew is free today depends on the schedule, so call (214) 407-2684 and ask. If the truck will load on an Allen street, it has to be off the street by 30 minutes after sunset.

Call (214) 407-2684 and ask whether a crew is free. Have both addresses, the floors and stairs at each end, and a list of what is moving ready. Before anything is loaded, ask for the written proposal with the maximum price, as Texas requires (43 TAC §218.56). One customer wrote that we “came through for me when other movers bailed” (Jessica M., Google review, 3 days ago as of Oct 15, 2026).

Check that the replacement is the carrier doing the move, not a broker, and that it gives you a written proposal with the maximum price before loading, plus the TxDMV brochure “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas”. Our Texas moving rules guide covers what a mover must hand you.

It depends on the job and the daylight left. The street rule is fixed: a moving truck can’t stand on an Allen public street from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise, and there is no loading exception at night (§9-227(c)). A full house late in the day may not fit, so call as early as you can.

Two documents. First, a written proposal that shows the maximum price, says whether it is binding or not-to-exceed, and states when and how payment is due and the mover’s liability for your goods, if any (43 TAC §218.56). Second, the TxDMV brochure “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas” (§218.55). Read both before the crew starts loading in Allen.
